Dr. Nick van Wetering
Dr. van Wetering has a long history working with elite teams and athletes and is highly regarded as the sports physician of choice in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Dr. van Wetering is experienced in the management of all sporting and musculoskeletal disorders with a special interest in spinal injuries and in particular the management of pars defects in athletes.
Nick also has an interest in using radial shockwave therapy for musculoskeletal disorders and in particular tendon pathology.
Nick also assists some of Melbourne's leading orthopaedic surgeons such as Mr Eden Raleigh, Mr John O'Donnell, and Mr Tony Dunin.
Currently Nick is head Team Physician to the Melbourne City FC and the Eastern Ranges TAC Cup Team.
Nick is also actively involved in the trialling of the new treatment for osteoarthritis with the medication called Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium (PPS). PPS is used to treat the aggressive bone marrow oedema associated with osteoarthritis.
