Podiatrist
With over 15 years of clinical experience, Dr Antoni Caserta has built his career around understanding human movement, lower-limb mechanics, and the factors that influence performance, pain, and long-term musculoskeletal health.
Across 14 years at Monash Health, Dr Caserta led the Paediatric Gait Clinic and worked collaboratively with physiotherapists and multidisciplinary teams. While originally embedded in a paediatric environment, this work involved complex gait pathology and biomechanical optimisation. He later served as Head of Allied Health Research before transitioning into broader project management roles, strengthening his ability to integrate clinical practice, systems design, and evidence-based innovation.
His PhD investigated gait pathology and lower-limb biomechanics, contributing to an expanding body of peer-reviewed work in gait science and musculoskeletal research. He continues to advance the profession as Chair of the APODA Paediatric Special Interest Group and is regularly invited to present at state, national, and international conferences on gait mechanics, foot function, and lower-limb conditions relevant to both clinical and athletic populations.
He currently works as a senior consultant at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), contributing to statewide and national initiatives designed to improve population-level movement, health, and participation
In addition to his clinical and research roles, Dr Caserta is a sessional lecturer in Neurology at Monash University, supporting emerging clinicians in developing strong foundations in neuromuscular and movement science.
Above all, Dr Caserta is committed to helping people—particularly young and emerging athletes—move well, perform confidently, and maintain long-term musculoskeletal health. He looks forward to partnering with individuals and families to support performance, prevention, and lifelong movement wellbeing.
